Germane MSDS

What is Germane?

Germane is a colorless gas with a pungent odor. When exposed to fire or intense heat, containers of germane can explode. It is flammable and toxic when inhaled. Runoff from fire will cause pollution. Germane can form explosive mixtures with air, and the vapors produced are heavier than air and spread along the ground. Germane tends to travel to the source of ignition and flash back.

Germane Exposure and Health Risks

Germane is toxic and can be lethal when inhaled. Germane gas can cause respiratory irritation, drowsiness and dizziness, as well as kidney damage. Nausea, vomiting, and difficulty breathing are also symptoms of germane poisoning. It will also cause skin and eye irritation and chemical burns upon direct contact.
