Universal Joystick Kit for Cab Tractors

The universal joystick kit has the main hydraulic components needed for controlling a front end loader, bucket, and grapple on a farm tractor. The main difference between the universal kit and a complete joystick kit is, the universal kit does not include hoses, tractor-specific mounting brackets, or a power beyond block. These items need to be added by the person installing the kit.

There are several situations where a universal joystick kit may be preferred over a complete joystick kit:

• A complete joystick kit is not offered for your tractor model.
• You have the setup for building brackets and hoses, and prefer to build these items yourself.

Universal Joystick Kit Options:

• 2-Function or 3-Function - 2-Function if only a loader and bucket need to be controlled. 3-Function if there is also a grapple or other 3rd function to control (3rd function is electric).
• Closed Center or Load Sense - Closed Center (Pressure Flow Compensated / PFC) valve designed for tractors with Closed Center hydraulic setup. Load Sense valve designed for tractors with Load Sense hydraulic setup.

Thing to consider when purchasing a universal joystick kit:

• How will you access the pressure and return (and, if applicable, the load sense) on the tractor? The most common way these are accessed is via a power beyond block, but other options are teeing in to existing lines on the tractor or using a pair of rear remotes to supply the pressure and return.
• Where would you like the joystick installed? The brackets supplied with the universal kit mount the joystick from the floor of the cab, but if you prefer to build your own brackets for mounting the joystick, common places to mount the joystick are: from the front right post of the cab, from the side of the cab, or between the seat and console.
• Where do you want the control valve installed? The length of the cables is 86", which allows some flexibility on where you place the valve. The most common area it is mounted is under the front-right section of the cab; in some situations where there is not enough room in this spot, it is installed on the rear of the tractor, typically right below the back cab window.
• Do you want the Pioneer quick couplers installed directly on the valve, or do you prefer the couplers installed somewhere between the valve and the loader steel lines? The kit comes with the Pioneer couplers as well as the fittings needed to install them directly on the valve. However, depending on where you install the valve, it may be more convenient to have the couplers installed on a bracket between the valve and loader lines; in a situation like this, the couplers are typically installed on a bracket that is attached to the loader upright.
